Stiles was having a mild freak out in the middle of his room when Scott came bursting in. Whirling around to look at his best friend, Stiles looked almost too nervous to ask. "Did you do it?"

"I did!" Scott grinned as he tossed a set of keys at the other boy. "The Jeep is all washed up and it looks like it's brand new. I even cleaned inside."

"You are a life saver! I would kiss you if Isaac wouldn't punch me in a jealous rage." Stiles joked. It was still weird for him to think Scott was involved with the other werewolf, another boy no less, but admittedly it wasn't the strangest thing they'd ever dealt with before.

Scott, who smiled a little more at the mention of his boyfriend, shrugged a bit. "He wouldn't punch you. I don't think." He had no idea what Isaac was like in the jealousy department.

"Okay, do I look okay?" Stiles finally asked, turning around with a curious look as he motioned at himself. He had gone for nice jeans, a plain Gary t-shirt and a button up shirt over top. His usual style though he looked clean and even wrinkle free.

"You look great."

"Wait, are you hitting on me now?" Stiles couldn't resist, grinning.

And it made Scott roll his eyes in amusement. "Shut up, dude. Did you get flowers?"

"I got one, singular. I read on a site about first date rules that you shouldn't give a girl a full bouquet on the first date but just a single flower."

"What? Why?"

"Something about it being over kill, so I got her a single pink rose. It's supposed to say that I like her and I'm hoping for more. Because Stiles needs more, Scott. I need a lot more."

"Maybe don't tell her that? Not on the first date?" Scott chuckled.

"Duh." Stiles nodded before looking around. "Okay, do I have everything? I put on deodorant, cologne..."

"You put on cologne? Wow you must like her."

"Dude, she's hot and she's nice." And clearly waiting for Lydia wasn't going to accomplish anything. "I want to make sure I get everything. I really want her to like me."

Catching his friend by the shoulder, Scott gave him a serious look. "She's going to adore you. Seriously, she is going to realize just how awesome you are. So don't worry, okay?"

"Easier said than done but thanks."

After a quick hug and a small pep talk, Stiles grabbed the flower from his desk along with his keys and his phone before rushing out. At 6:42, he was pulling up outside the lodge Kat had directed him to. Trying to push down the nervous flutters in his stomach and chest that made him feel like he was on the edge of a mild panic attack, he jumped out of the jeep and moved around to the front doors. He hoped she was waiting for him as he had no idea which room she was in.

Katherine was, indeed, waiting for him in the lobby. Honestly, she didn't want to subject him to Elijah or Klaus. The level of not-normal in her life was still kind of epic, even if Elijah told her she should enjoy this chance to be a real girl.

Okay, those hadn't been his exact words. He'd said it in Elijah speak, which was hauntingly perfect and eloquent, but that's what he'd meant. So...she was going bowling. Klaus's laughter when she'd told him had been grating, but she thought it sounded...well. Better than sitting around the hotel room. And Stiles was nice. She'd meant it when she'd said that was rare in her life.

Klaus was generally mocking, as always. Elijah was distant, clearly trying to keep a wall up between them, and she apparently got headaches now.

They kind of sucked.

She hadn't been sure what people wore to a bowling alley, but it wasn't like she had a whole lot of regular teen clothes. So, tight black jeans, low cut blue tank top, black denim jacket, boots with heels.

There were shoes there, she'd found out, though that seemed...like a questionable sort of practice.

She was flipping through a guidebook on things to do in the area, not really engrossed, but passing the time. When a breeze came in through the door, she looked up and saw Stiles and smiled hopping to her feet (and hadn't learning to walk in her heels without preternatural balance been fun?).

"Hey."

Stiles stopped dead at the sight of her moving towards him and once again he wondered why she wanted to go out with him at all. Not that he was complaining but whoa.

"Whoa." He murmured, his eyes moving over her quickly before returning to her face again. "You look amazing."

Katherine gave him a pleased smile at the compliment. She liked being looked at like that, and it had been a while. "Thank you. You're looking quite nice yourself."

"Yeah?" He glanced down at himself before looking at her again. "Thank you."

"Shall we?" He offered his arm then, waiting for her to take it before leading her out through the sliding doors. Moving to where his jeep was parked, he pulled his arm away do he could open the passenger door for her. Of course he reached in to snag the single stem pink rose he had bought for her. Turning, he offered it with a small crooked smile. "M'lady, your chariot awaits."

Dear god, he was adorable. Having been "m'lady" and had chariots awaiting...she had to smile, but it was in amused delight. Considering the jeans and boots, the curtesy she gave when taking the rose and before climbing into the jeep somehow still brought sweeping skirts to mind. "Thank you, my lord."

He gave a small smile at the way she curtsied before him, totally impressed. Shutting her door once she was settled in, he hurried around to his side and jumped in. "So are you ready to get schooled in the fun of bowling?" Yes, he was dorky but he liked to think he was cute about it. Sometimes.

Pulling out of the parking lot, he started back towards the town. "So, liking the lodge?"

Katherine ducked her head and breathed in the scent of the rose, smiling at him when he got in and they headed out.

"It's okay. There's an indoor pool and the spa is really nice, for, you know. A spa at what's supposed to be a rustic lodge." She chuckled. She had totally been using the spa like...daily. The boys could afford it, and they both owed her.

"Cool." He nodded, glancing over at her with a small smile. "So you just...get massages there?"

Okay, he was trying not to think about her naked or giving her a massage. Really.

"Oh, I think I've almost worked through their whole menu," she said with an impish grin.

Stiles chuckled at that as he turned down another street. "So they're getting to know you rather well."

"They really are." She tipped extravagantly. With Klaus's money. Five hundred years of terror and now playing blood bag? She was owed.

But she pushed back that shadow, giving him another smile. "So...bowling. Is it something you do a lot?"

"Uh, sometimes?" He glanced over at her again before smiling sheepishly. "Kind of?"

Then he had to admit it. "Not a lot and mostly it's on the wii."

She grinned and shook her head. "I've never done that, either..."

A little shrug. "We'll figure it out. Or spend a lot of time laughing at ourselves."

"Really? Well, uh, we could try it out some time?" Though that did mean inviting her over to his place.

Then he smiled with a nod. "Which is always fun."

"Sure," she agreed with a smile, even though it was annoying to think she wouldn't be as good as she would have been. The lowered reflexes, along with everything else, was the hardest thing to get used to, honestly.

"At least I won't feel like I'm a complete failure."

He wasn't aware she was worried about her reflexes as she seemed rather graceful to him. That and no one could really be worse than him.

"I doubt you could be." He glanced over at her with a small smile.

Katherine ducked her head, then flashed him a sweet smile. "Thanks..."

"So what's interesting here in town?"

Stiles was charmed by the sweet smile. So much so that he was almost distracted and slow to respond.

"Not much besides the wacky supernatural and trying to stay alive." Stiles joked somewhat.

Katherine gave him a wry smile. "Are you really all that wrapped up in it? That doesn't seem a really safe position to be in..."

"Maybe not but I can't seem to get away from it." He replied with a bit of a shrug.

"Yeah, I know how that is," she murmured, looking out the window with a faint frown.

He glances over and offers a bright smile. "Well, maybe we can get away from it for a night, right?"

Katherine looked back at him and gave him one of her sweeter smiles. "You have no idea how good that sounds."

She looked surprised almost as soon as she heard herself say the words. "...I never thought I'd say that."

"Why is that?" He asked, catching the surprise with a curious look.

Katherine shrugged a little. "I guess being wrapped up in it is just what I've been almost all my life. I always thought that made me special. Being normal...sounded boring."

It didn't right now, and that was odd.

"I like being normal." He admitted, glancing over at her. "I know that sounds weird considering everyone around me is pretty much special but...I like it. I think being human, having someone normal, helps to keep them grounded."

Katherine frowned a little at that, thinking, then gave a wry smile. "I think you're the only other normal person I know..."

"You're really the only other normal person I know too." He nodded, smiling. "Well, I mean, there's Allison but she's a hunter so..."

Katherine's gaze dropped. She knew she'd let the implication be there, that she was normal, just a girl, like he was just a boy, except that wasn't quite true. She didn't know how to be one, even, but she was trying. And she didn't want to tell him that, make him...whatever if he realized just how not normal she was.

"Hunters definitely don't count as normal, even if they are just human." She shuddered a little, unable to stop that deeply instilled reaction of centuries.

"She's on our side though." He told her, catching the shiver as concern instead of something else as it hadn't crossed his mind that she would be anything but human. He would kick himself for that after he learned the truth.

Katherine gave him a small smile and tossed her hair back. "Well, that's helpful. They can make good allies, I've heard, if you can trust them."

Stiles though back to how Allison had been after her mother died but he still nodded slowly. "We can trust her and her Dad." He was pretty sure they could or so he hoped. Scott seemed to think they could.

"Good," Katherine murmured, though she wouldn't be getting too close any time soon. Not that she was something to be hunted by anyone other than Klaus anymore, but the wariness remained, deeply ingrained. "Does it get overwhelming for you, sometimes, everyone being something else other than just human?"

"It used to at first." Stiles admitted, nodding his head. "But sometimes...being a human means I can do things they can't. It gives me a different perspective than them and...I'm still useful." Though sometimes he worried about just how useful he was. That didn't stop him from trying though.

"What sort of things?" she sounded probably more doubtful than she meant to and more than a human girl should, but it had nothing to do with him and everything to do with not really knowing how to be human anymore, and not really having known any humans who weren't just pawns in...a very long time.
